I love when a photo captures a moment in time. It can make us stop and feel the hurt, fun and laughter of another place. It can be as powerful as music.
Do you remember the tragedy in the Philippines back in November? At that time I was so unaware as I was enjoying a cruise around the Pacific being served by people from the Philippines. I did not even know or realise their family was being touched by tragedy until I got back home and saw the images.
The best photography that does this for me is from Time Magazine. At this time of year I like to look back at the year and see how the world has handled it. Unfortunately, there are always so many tears but I can also see the hope. Maybe that is my own mindset as I tend to live in a beautiful land with beautiful people.
Take a look at the top ten images from Time Magazine for 2013.
Does it take you back and bring your emotions to the front again? Do you shed a tear or get anxious? Maybe it makes you want to be better for 2014 and give to those that are less fortunate.
The great thing about Time Magazine is that the story is told and captured in the image. The detail in the words that accompanies it. Let me know what you think of their selected top 10 images for the year.
I hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you all luck for 2014. Happy New Year
