As I again struggle to write another part for Parker Harry and I await the return of my images from the AskMen event that will feature the Olympus OMD-EM1. I thought I would share my 3rd anniversary living, working and playing in Lake Macquarie playing homage to the beautiful lake.
I wander the afternoons on the east side between Speers Point, Warners Bay, Valentine and Belmont. My Olympus OMD-EM5 with 17mm 1.8 is always with me as I know when the sun falls behind the distant mountains the light comes out to play. Sometimes the sky is purple, sometimes red and sometimes just beautiful. It does not even matter if a storm looms as that is just as spectacular.
At the start of the year I undertook the Michelle Bridges 12WBT programme and was up at 5am running and sprinting along the Lake. Sometimes the mornings were cold but I still had to pinch myself at the breathtaking scenes before me.
How did I go with the 12WBT you ask? Wow, I lost so much weight after 12 weeks I ended up skinny and with a bad knee as I went way to hard. It is funny how getting the right balance is harder than we think.
When your feeling left or right of centre the Lake edge is a beautiful place to escape. There my thoughts will flow and new ideas arise giving life to something new. Maybe this blog was one of those moments.
Then there are moments, I just sit there and watch the sun fall and the sky change. The silhouette of the trees, boats, mountains can be so inspiring.
I hope you enjoyed my little 2013 reflection of Lake Macquarie. Come visit one day and you will find a hidden gem.
